There are some really great children’s books that focus on Atlanta attractions and the city at large. A few include activities that kids can do while visiting the city and others are good books to read to your kids so they learn more about where they live.

Take a look at some of my favorites and don’t forget to visit your local public library. I have found many of these selections there.

The Squirrel Who Hitchhiked to Atlanta

Have you ever wanted to visit a new place? Robert is a curious and intelligent little squirrel who likes to sit in a big filbert tree and read the bumper stickers on cars that drive past. One day he reads of a toy museum in Atlanta, Georgia, and remembers that his uncle, Ralph Q. Squirrel, lives there. Being a bit impulsive, he decides to set off on an adventure to see his uncle and meet his uncle’s new wife and children.
