Fun Things to do Before You Go to the Butterfly Festival

Free Butterfly Coloring Pages

The Butterfly Site has a tremendous amount of free coloring pages, crafts and activities all related to ….you guessed it…Butterflies! Print out of few of these varied butterfly images. Grab a box of crayons and encourage your child to use a variety of colors to create their butterflies. When they are finished, you can glue the pages to card stock. Cut the butterflies out. Use a hole puncher, a hanger and some string to create a butterfly mobile.

Butterfly Pancake by Jim’s Pancakes

Here’s a pretty impressive pancake from one of the coolest sites ever…Jim’s Pancakes. Although the Butterfly pancake seems a little difficult to make, it would definitely be worth a try before heading out to enjoy a butterfly themed day.

See How They Grow – Butterflies

We own the entire “See How They Grow” series and my 4 year old daughter just loves to learn about how animals and insects develop. Visit your local library and search for this book or any other fascinating picture filled book about butterflies to make your child’s time at the festival even more enriching.
